Chemin Hatley Savory Waffles

Makes about a dozen waffles

 
Chemin Hatley Savory Waffles
Ingredients
  • 190 g all-purpose flour
  • 30 g cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 55 g melted butter
  • 85 g grated Chemin Hatley cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped chives
  • 1 tbsp old-style mustard
Steps
  1. In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients and seasonings.

  2. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and buttermilk together.

  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir, then add the melted butter. Fold in the grated Chemin Hatley cheese, chopped chives, and mustard. Mix until combined.

  4. Spoon the batter into a preheated waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
